In a document signed by Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung and issued late on June 21, hair salons, and indoor catering venues have been permitted to resume operations, nearly a month after receiving closure orders.

Capacity is capped at 50% and no more than 20 customers can be in a venue at any time, while venues are asked to set up barriers between tables and ensure a safe distance between customers. They must also close by 9pm.

The owners of all venues must require customers to submit electronic health declarations during their time on the premises.

Wine bars, pubs, and bia hoi (draught beer) venues are only allowed to sell orders for delivery.

On the same day, in Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong inspected the injection of COVID-19 vaccine at some injection venues. The city only has five days remaining to inject more than 800,000 doses for all subjects.

The Department of Health of HCM City has issued a plan to implement the COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

In addition to the supply from the Government, HCM City has actively contacted directly with vaccine manufacturers. It is expected that the city will have about 5-10 million more doses this year and is striving to inject two thirds of local residents by the year end.

The Ministry of Health informed that a shipment of 500,000 needles and syringes supported by T&T Group will be transported by air to HCM City to support the locality in its vaccination campaign. This shipment is part of a sponsorship package of 150 million needles and syringes set by T&T Group to serve the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign nationwide.

In some epidemic-hit localities, the prevention and control measures have been urgently implemented. The People's Committee of Thac Gian Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City, has issued an urgent document asking local people not to visit six hot spots in the area in order to ensure safety.

Yen My District in Hung Yen Province yesterday decided to apply medical blockage on some areas in Yen My Town, Trung Hung Commune and Nghia Hiep Commune in relation to two new cases of infection. The quarantine period is from 10:00 on June 21 until further notice.

Thu Dau Mot City has implemented strict social distancing in its four wards under Directive 16. The remaining wards in Thu Dau Mot continue to comply with Directive No. 15/CT-TTg.

Inter-provincial and intra-provincial public passenger transport (except for epidemic-hit localities) have also been resumed. Factories, production facilities and construction sites continue to operate and must maintain strict implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures.

During the day, donations were made to support COVID-19 prevention and control work. The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee received VND10 billion from Vietnam Cement Corporation (VICEM) for the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, as well as VND 500 million from the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Union and VND100 million from the Vietnam Chemical Group.
