More support mobilised towards COVID-19 prevention and control

A donation programme was launched in Gia Lai Province on July 28 to support the prevention and control of COVID-19 in the locality.

The programme, co-hosted by Fly to Sky Charity Organisation, the provincial Youth Federation, and the youth union of the Vietnam News Agency, features two major activities including presenting medical equipment to health workers who are joining the COVID-19 fight in the province, and providing essential necessities to local people whose livelihoods are being affected by the pandemic.

At the launch ceremony, the organising board received 10,000 medical masks, 850 bottles of hand sanitiser, 1,200 bottles of mineral water, 9 infrared thermometers, and 2 tonnes of vegetables and other necessities from local people and businesses.

Ho Chi Minh City-based Bio Medical Equipment Corporation and the Chen Min International Company donated medical equipment worth over VND100 million to the Gia Lai Provincial Military High Command, Gia Lai Provincial General Hospital, and the Pleiku City's Military High Command.

* On the same day in Ninh Thuan Province, representatives from the provincial Orchid Association presented nearly 2,500 gift packages and cash worth roughly VND400 million to households in the areas blockaded due to COVID-19 in Phuoc Dan Town and Phuoc Hai Commune in Ninh Phuoc District; and the three wards of Phu Ha, Phuoc My, and My Binh in Phan Rang – Thap Chap City.

The association also presented over VND50 million to the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s chapter in Ninh Thuan Province to support local needy people amidst COVID-19.

* On July 27 and 28, Ninh Binh – based Xuan Truong Construction Company donated VND100 billion to the National COVID-19 Vaccine Fund.

Previously, the company handed over two dialysis machines, four ventilators and a COVID-19 testing system worth VND12 billion to the Ninh Binh provincial hospital to support the fight against the pandemic in the locality.
