The remarks were made by Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam and Dean of the Group of African Ambassadors Jamale Chouaibi at a ceremony to celebrate the Africa Day (May 25) held in Hanoi on May 24.
Addressing the ceremony, Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam Jamale Chouaibi noted that the Africa Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the socio-economic achievements of the continent and to showcase the diverse rich cultures as well as the opportunities that the continent has to offer.
According to the Ambassador, Africa and Vietnam have been active proponents of South – South cooperation and seek to address common challenges and opportunities in the 21st century pertaining to some critical key areas to which both African countries and Vietnam give a paramount importance and priority including Food, Energy and Health Security.
“Together, African countries and Vietnam can forge a brighter future for African and Vietnamese people and for generations to come, hand in hand to build a world that is more just, more prosperous, and more inclusive for all”, Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam Jamale Chouaibi said.

On behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Vu extended his warmest congratulations to African Governments and peoples, Excellencies Ambassadors, Heads of Diplomatic Missions of African countries in Hanoi, and African friends who are residing, working and studying in Vietnam.
He said as a close and dear friend of the African people, the people of Vietnam are heartened by Africa's remarkable achievements and Vietnam always values and wishes to promote and deepen the multi-faceted cooperation with Africa, at both bilateral and multilateral fronts.
“I fully agree with Ambassador Jamale Chouaibi on the areas and measures to further advance the future cooperation between Viet Nam and Africa, particularly in food, energy and health security as he has just emphasised”, Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu stressed.

Africa is on the rise today and continues to affirm its position as a growth driver of the world and as a land of opportunity which has embarked on a bold agenda that seeks to diversify its economy by engaging with traditional and new economic and development partners.
Africa Day is a momentous occasion to commemorate the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was created on 25 May 1963 as the precursor of the African Union (AU).
