The investment permit was handed over to Vinamilk and its subsidiary Vilico, at a ceremony on December 23, in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Covering an area of 25 hectares in My Hao Town, the dairy plant has a total capacity of 400 million litres per year, and is expected to be one of Vinamilk’s key projects over the next five to ten years.

Situated in Hung Yen Province’s northern area with favourable transport links, the plant will connect with Vinamilk’s cow farms in northern Vietnam, to create a sustainable value chain and bring substantial economic benefits to the province and the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vinamilk CEO Mai Kieu Lien said she expects the project will provide a strong boost for the company’s development and contribute to the milk processing industry in Hung Yen Province, as well as strengthen local economic growth.

She pledged to implement the project in an effective manner and on schedule.

Once operational, the project will create jobs for local residents and contribute 500-800 billion VND each year to the provincial budget.
