Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, students in many localities started the new school year in online form, and as a result the demand to buy laptops and tablets has skyrocketed.

As noted by many chain stores selling mobile devices across the country, from August, the number of customers looking to buy laptops and tablets began to bustle, the peak being the second half of August and the beginning of September.

Talking to a reporter from VietnamPlus, Nguyen Lac Huy, a representative of the CellphoneS system, said that compared to the previous month, the number of buyers increased by 50% and by 250-300% over the same period in 2020.

According to a report from FPT, in only the first five days of September, the system recorded record revenue for laptops and tablets, an increase of 300% compared to September 2020.

In terms of products, laptops are still the most popular, followed by tablets. The number of goods sold at FPT increased across all price segments. However, the strongest in the segment of laptops worth from VND14million to VND20 million and tablets worth under VND6 million.

One limitation is that large localities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have applied social distancing, so online orders have to wait for a long time for delivery. Not to mention the stores are closed, making it impossible for parents to experience the products before buying.

In order to support customers during the epidemic season, laptop and tablet stores are changing their business plans.

At FPT, in addition to home delivery and installation, they also deploy remote technical support services with support tools to immediately handle errors or to install software remotely on the customer's machine.
