The event was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Nghia; and leaders of Hung Yen province and other provinces, including representatives of foreign trade and diplomatic agencies and representatives of many domestic and foreign enterprises, gardeners and cooperatives in Hung Yen province.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated Hung Yen province's dynamism and efforts in promoting agricultural product consumption. He emphasised that in the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to accompany and support Hung Yen province in particular and localities in general to promote trade promotion, advertising, product introduction and promoting trade connection, consumption of agricultural products in both domestic and export markets.
At the same time, the Minister also proposed that Party committees, authorities, enterprises and producers in Hung Yen province effectively implement the project of exporting through official channels, presided over by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
To further promote the application of digital technology and e-commerce in trade promotion activities and strengthen the work of market forecasting information and production orientation, while promoting the connection between the provincial Trade Promotion Agency with the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as other agencies, in accompanying each other to share market information, support the expansion of distribution channels for businesses, cooperatives and producers.
Hung Yen province has more than 5,000 hectares of longan, in which the area for harvesting is about 4,800 ha. The area of longan that has been certified to meet VietGAP standards so far is 1,200 ha, at 81 facilities and production areas of longan across the province. This year, the output of longan in Hung Yen province is estimated at 45,000 tonnes. In addition to selling fresh fruit, it is also processed to make dried longan.
At the conference, leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hung Yen province, and representatives of businesses and cooperatives launched the programme to bring Hung Yen's longan and agricultural products on the e-commerce platform and distribution systems. In addition, some enterprises have signed minutes of agreement on the consumption of longan and agricultural products with cooperatives in Hung Yen province.
