The amount lifted the total retail sales in the first seven months of this year to over VND1,845 trillion (US$84.5 billion), a year-on-year increase of 9.9%.
In the first seven months of this year, the retail sales of the State-owned sector was VND205.3 trillion (US$ 9.4 billion), up 14.1%, while those of the non-State and foreign direct investment (FDI) sectors were VND1,579 trillion (US$72.3 billion) and VND61.4 trillion (US$2.8 billion), up 9.5% and 7.8%, respectively.
The trade sector posted a retail sales value of over VND1,400 trillion (US$64.1 billion) in seven months, up 10.6% over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the hotel and restaurant sector reported a sales of VND215.9 trillion (US$9.8billion) in seven months, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%.
The service sector recorded sales of VND212.6 trillion (US$9.7 billion), up 9.8% over the corresponding period last year. Notably, tourism reached VND16.5 trillion (US$758 million), a year-on-year decrease of 5.1%.
