Accordingly, electricity manufacturing and distribution industry saw the highest growth at 11.4%; followed by the processing and manufacturing industry with 10.6%, water supply and wastewater and garbage treatment with 7.4%, and the minerals sector with 6.5%.
Sharp year-on-year rises were also recorded in the production of electronic and optical products and computers (37%), motor vehicles (26.7%), leather and related products (17.4%), and textile (13.9%).
Localities recording high IIP are Thai Nguyen (97%), Quang Nam (35.3%), Hai Phong (16.6%), Phu Tho (15.4%) and Da Nang (12.9%). Meanwhile, the 2015 IIP of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City only reached 8.2% and 7.9%, respectively.
The inventory index for the processing and manufacturing industry as of December 1 had risen by 7.4% over the last month and 9.5% over the same period last year.
Several industries had a high inventory index such as production of electronic and optical products and computers production (104.8%), beverages processing (66.8%), leather and related products production (30.3%), and motor vehicle manufacturing (28.4%).
The GSO also announced that the workforce in industrial enterprises as of December 1 had increased by 1.1% over last month and 6.4% year-on-year; of which, 1.3% in State-owned sector, 4.6% in non-State businesses and 8% in foreign-invested enterprises.
