Accordingly, the sector will strive to raise a total of over 5.45 million cows, 28.55 million pigs and 370.8 million various kinds of poultry.

To achieve the set targets, the ministry continues to expand its breeding programme following Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP) standard, develop high quality livestock breeds and accelerate implementation of support policies to facilitate efficient husbandry during the 2015-2020 period.

In addition, the ministry also targets to earn export value of forest products this year at US$7.2- 7.3 billion.

On that basis, it will improve productivity and quality and promote the value of each type of forest; improve value-added for processed wood products; facilitate cooperative economic development and value chain linkage for forestry products; while expanding the market for timber and wood products.
