Vinacomin cooperates with Japan to improve production capacity

On May 29, Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) and Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (Jogmec) signed cooperation agreements to implement their collaboration programme on training to improve coal production capacity and safe techniques.

The programme aims to provide training for engineers of Ha Long and Ha Lam Ha Long coal holding limited company and Ha Lam joint stock company, in order to improve the standards of mining technology and the incorporation of safe techniques, as well as training in the theoretical and practical methods applied in deep pit mining in Japan, .

The project will be implemented from May 30 until the end of May, 2018.

In addition, Vinacomin signed cooperation agreements with Japan’s Kushiro province on theoretical training, organisation of seminars and provision of technical guidance for officials and engineers of the mine rescue centre, coal mines and vocational schools. The programme will end in February 2018.

During the discussions, Deputy General Director of Vinacomin Nguyen Hoang Trung emphasised that the project on training to improve the coal production capacity and safe techniques with Japan was one of the most important targets to make coal mining technology in the country, particularly pit coal mines, more advanced, modern and safe.

Jogmec is a leading oil, gas and metals corporation in Japan. Over the past few years, Vinacomin has developed several technical cooperation programmes with Jogmec, which has brought about many practical effects.
