Vietnam Economic Forum to take place on January 16-17

The 2019 edition of the annual Vietnam Economic Forum is scheduled to take place on the two days of January 16 and 17, announced the Central Economic Commission.

The forum is expected to see the participation of many leaders from ministries, agencies, authorities, enterprises, organisations and experts, who will discuss major economic issues in the near future.

The delegates will evaluate the economic situation, identify the opportunities and challenges facing the economy and put forward policy measures in order to boost reform and economic development.

The forum will feature a plenary session and high-level policy dialogue on Vietnam’s economy in 2018 and its prospects in 2019, while there will also be workshops on infrastructure development, climate change adaptation and digital economy development.

On the sidelines of the forum, an exhibition on energy technology for sustainable development will he held with the participation of enterprises in power generation, transmission and the application of IoT and AI in energy development.

This is the third time that the Vietnam Economic Forum will be held, following the first and second editions in June 2017 and January 2018.

Last year, Vietnam’s economy expanded by 7.08%, the fastest pace in ten years, with inflation contained at 3.54% and a record high trade surplus of US$7 billion.
