The opening ceremony was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai; as well as members of Party Central Committee: Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

The summit also gathered over 3,000 experts, investors, groups and start-ups from Vietnam and foreign countries around the world.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that the capital city always identifies start-ups as an important direction, considering people and businesses as goals to be served.

This year’s summit will not only help start-ups develop but also connect investors, experts and start-ups together, contributing to upholding the start-up spirit among the community in Hanoi in particular and across the country in general, he added.

He also committed that the municipal authorities would create the most favourable conditions for start-up enterprises.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung also expressed his believe that with the achievements over recent years, Hanoi would become a leading locality in creative start-up in the country.

Focusing on innovation for sustainability and multi-sectoral inclusions in emerging economies, experts and enterprises discussed issues: “Our planet and cities – at the level of infrastructure’ and ‘Organisations and our lives – creativity at the human level’.

An exhibition featuring products, services, solutions and technologies of creative start-up enterprises as well as meetings and trading activities among domestic and foreign start-ups will also be held on the sidelines of the Hanoi Innovation Summit.
