The event was chaired by Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung.

Recently, with the Government's guidance and drastic implementation of measures, the specialized inspection of exported and imported goods has achieved certain results, but has not met the requirements of the reforms to improve national competitiveness in cross-border trade.

Therefore, the scheme on reforming the inspection model for imports and exports is being developed which is expected to comprehensively reform the model of quality control of export and import goods. This is in order to create favorable conditions for goods export and import activities in the direction of simplifying the procedures; reducing costs and resources for businesses and society; clearly defining the state management responsibilities of goods quality of ministries and branches as well as inspection responsibilities of agencies / organisations. Implementing them on the basis of applying risk management principles, in accordance with international practices.

According to the assigned plan, the scheme is expected to be submitted to the Government for consideration in the first quarter of 2020.
