The 2013 Vietnam-Russia Trade and Investment Forum opened in Moscow on October 7 to exchange experience and seek trading and investment opportunities.

The forum – co-organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and the Kursk Oblast provincial authority – introduced investment opportunities in various fields, especially in agriculture, food processing, mining and construction.

Addressing the forum, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son said the forum provided a good opportunity for both sides to explore opportunities and network with potential trade and investment partners.

Along with traditional areas of collaboration, Russian participants at the forum expressed interest in expanding co-operation in culture and tourism.

Kursk Mayor Alexandr Mikhailove expressed his hope that Russian and Vietnamese businesses will participate in similar events in the future. He also affirmed that the city would create favourable conditions for entrepreneurs from Vietnam and Russia to do business.
