The project will cover 13ha with a total investment of US$31 million. US$7.6 million is set aside for the first phase, covering 3ha, which is scheduled to complete by October, and the rest of the funds will go to the second phase, covering 10ha.

According to Le Manh Ha, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal People’s Committee, this is the first project of a joint venture between Vietnam and Japan which if successful, will attract further Japanese business. He expressed his hope that the model will be replicated for other industrial zones and technological parks within the city.

The Vie-Pan Techno Park, a co-operative project of the Vie-Pan Industrial Park of Japan and the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Zone Joint Stock Company, aims to attract business within the Japanese supporting industry by supplying the ‘whole package’, from the preparation of production facilities to facilitating legal procedures for favourable conditions for investors, leaving businesses to focus on their production and trade.
