The forum aims to support districts and provincial-level towns in strengthening their linkages for trade promotion and the consumption of OCOP and agricultural products about to be harvested.

In addition, the Hanoi municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has also coordinated with 21 northern provinces and cities to develop 786 safe food supply chains for the capital city.

During the social distancing period, the department has also worked with the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in provinces and cities to compile a list of 800 focal point establishments providing agro-forestry-aquatic products, focusing on provinces in the northern supply chains for Hanoi market.

The City’s agricultural production capacity can meet only 35-60% of the local citizens’ needs. A large amount of food has had to be imported from provinces and cities around the country and from foreign countries.

Therefore, it is crucial to boost the cooperation and connection with consumption of agro-forestry-aquatic products from provinces and cities, especially the 21 northern localities.

In order to raise the quality of the production-consumption connections of agricultural products, the Hanoi Municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development asked enterprises to summarise the quantity of goods per month they can supply to the capital and submit the lists to their localities. The provincial authorities will then send them to Hanoi.
