In particular, in the difficult context of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnamese entrepreneurs have promoted their intelligence, bravery and creativity to "drive" their businesses to overcome the "storm", continue to show a sense of responsibility for the community, and remain ready to join hands with the country and people to fight the epidemic.

The complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic have caused many difficulties for businesses in the past two years. Social distancing leads to market disruptions, halting production activities, supply chain disruptions, and job losses for workers. However, overcoming difficulties, many enterprises still tried to maintain and stabilise production, contributing to the recovery momentum of the economy.

Perseverance, creativity to overcome all difficulties

In the early stage of the pandemic, edX Group Joint Stock Company (specialising in investing, building and exploiting the online business ecosystem based in Hanoi) was not greatly affected, but later, the more the company was affected by Covid-19, the more edX Chairman Nguyen Dinh Hung said that all areas of the company's activities were affected. The factory producing wigs for export was closed; workers had no jobs; orders could not be delivered in time; The business segment through the Alibaba commerce ecosystem was suspended due to reduced customer demand, interrupted transportation, high commodity prices; The education and training segment stopped completely as students have to miss school for many months.

In that context, the edX leadership realised it was time for businesses to restructure their operations and actively transform digitally to adapt to the new situation. First, in order not to interrupt work, edX moved all operations to an online environment: personnel working online, meeting and reporting daily results, training online.

Thanks to this, edX has taken advantage of the team of collaborators working from home to avoid the epidemic. The company also implemented more digital businesses such as building a Blockchain Diamond Network project and receiving an investment offer of more than US$10 million; opening short-term online training courses on Blockchain, attracting hundreds of students.

Thanks to these timely changes, despite many difficulties, edX continues to maintain good operations, and at the same time is finding many new development directions for the next period ahead.

Meanwhile, for the Greenpan Vietnam Joint Stock Company (Binh Tan Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City), in order to maintain operations in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of each officer and employee is the priority. According to company CEO Dao Ngoc Long, despite the prolonged pandemic, Greenpan still maintains benefits as well as having a flexible working regime to ensure the lives of employees.

Specifically, the company has organised 100% of employees to be vaccinated; implementing the working plan under the “three on the spot” model; testing Covid-19 on a weekly basis. The company's leadership decided to sponsor an insurance package in addition to the policies of fostering and additional allowances for employees working at the factory. The company also has a plan to support employees in case of Covid-19 infection by being fully equipped with medical equipment, ventilators at the factory, doctors giving online instruction as well as being ready to receive cases for treatment when necessary.

On the other hand, with the responsibility for the community, right after the fourth wave of epidemic broke out in Ho Chi Minh City, Greenpan also implemented many support programmes for the people and the city.

The People's Committee of Lang Son province held a conference to meet businesses and entrepreneurs on the occasion of Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day on October 13.

Ready to join hands with the community

Commenting on the bravery of the current Vietnamese business team, Mac Quoc Anh, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Hanoi Association of Small-Medium Enterprises (Hanoisme), shared: In 2020 and 2021, many businesses were severely affected, reducing scale, suspending operations or even closing. However, businesses and entrepreneurs still tried to overcome difficulties to continue reinvesting and creating jobs for employees.

On the other hand, businesses and entrepreneurs also carry within themselves the spirit and responsibility towards the community, always ready to respond to programmes to support the Government and frontline forces in fighting the epidemic. This is a testament to the inheritance of the spirit of perseverance, patience to overcome difficulties and readiness for the country of today's entrepreneurs compared to previous business people. Hanois has over the past time also has many activities to support the people in epidemic prevention and control.

It can be said that the team of Vietnamese entrepreneurs has been making many important contributions to the construction and development of the country. In the context of increasingly strong globalisation, entrepreneurs are the core force moving the country forward, actively integrating more deeply into the global economy.

Therefore, according to Mac Quoc Anh, building a team of strong, capable, qualified and qualified entrepreneurs has become an urgent task, contributing to promoting sustainable economic development, building the strong position of Vietnam on the world map. To do this, it is necessary to have appropriate programmes to motivate enterprises and entrepreneurs to make more efforts and try harder, promoting the spirit of "Vietnamese entrepreneurs".

Vu Tien Loc, President of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) suggested that in order for entrepreneurs to strongly promote their inherent qualities, overcome difficulties and help businesses continue to grow, the Government should implement solutions to support businesses.

Meanwhile, enterprises should actively improve their capacity, operational efficiency, and resilience to all adversities; in which, it is necessary to focus on digitalisation together with the other factors such as the green agenda and socialisation. More importantly, the ultimate goal of enterprises today is no longer "maximising profits" but "serving society, serving people".

The value and stature of an entrepreneur is not only to be judged by their number of assets but also by their contribution and dedication to society, bringing happiness to everyone. This is the ultimate goal of every citizen, and entrepreneurs must be the vanguard in this mission.
