NDO - Ho Chi Minh City Chairman Phan Van Mai has spoken highly of the contributions of local businesspeople in the battle against COVID-19 in Vietnam’s southern economic hub.

At an event to mark Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day on October 13, Mai extended his congratulations to entrepreneurs and shared his wish for them to grow stronger for the development of the city.

He noted that despite the complicated developments of the pandemic in recent months, enterprises managed to remain in operation to meet the market’s basic needs.

Entrepreneurs also contributed their ideas to help the city formulate plans for socio-economic recovery once the pandemic has ended.

Mai told entrepreneurs that the city will strive to create a facilitative government, listen to their opinions and remove obstacles to serve them better, while expecting that they will continue to make contributions to the city’s development.

* On the same day, the neighbouring province of Binh Duong also held an event to honour exemplary entrepreneurs on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day.

At the meeting, Binh Duong Chairman Vo Van Minh thanked local businesspeople for donating medical supplies towards the fight against COVID-19 and overcoming difficulties to maintaining production and take care of workers’ lives.
