The event was livestreamed and attracted about 334,000 views on Facebook alone with nearly 16,000 interactions. Many international newspapers also reported on this event.

VinFast, a subsidiary of Vietnamese conglomerate VinGroup, introduced a gasoline-powered sedan model at the 2018 Paris Motor Show three years ago and its ambition is much bigger this time around.

“VinFast is here because the Los Angeles Auto Show has a long history and it is the birthplace of major breakthroughs in the global auto industry, in line with the purpose that the company is pursuing,” said Michael Lohscheller, CEO of VinFast Global.

“VinFast believes the future of mobility will be one of smart electric cars that are highly personalised and integrated with technologies that benefit life and our environment,” the CEO noted.

For the global market, VinFast announced that it will take orders for the first electric cars early next year and the delivery time will be towards the end of 2022.

The two cars were styled by Pininfarina but were engineered in-house at VinFast. According to Vinfast, the VF e35 can run up to 310 km per charge while VF e36 can travel up to 422 km on a single charge.
