Seafood exports to China also doubled in April, reaching 216 million USD, raising total seafood exports to this market to 578 million USD in four months, up 94% over the same period in 2021. In particular, tra fish exports to the Chinese market accounted for 53% of the total seafood turnover to this market.

Vietnam’s seafood exports to the EU, Japan, the Republic of Korea and many other markets all recorded double-digit growth in the first four months of this year. However, according to Vasep, the US and China will continue to occupy the majority of Vietnam’s seafood exports, determining the growth rate of Vietnam's seafood exports in the coming months.

It is forecast that Vietnam’s seafood exports will reach 2.8-3 billion USD in the second quarter of this year, up about 36-38% over the same period in 2021.
