According to the Vietnam Food Association, the country shipped abroad over 307,255 tonnes of rice worth US$127.5 million (FOB) or US$154 million (CIF) in the first month of 2014.
Compared to the same period in 2013, the export volume fell by 24% whilst the value decreased by more than 30.5% (FOB) or 16.4% (CIF).
The 5% broken rice ranges from VND8,100 to VND8,600 per kilogram.
The export volume is expected to reach 300,000-350,000 tonnes in February.
