So far, the province has completed procedures to submit the applications to the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP).

Concurrently, the province has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Science and Technology to approve a ‘Ca Mau’ geographic indication for its tiger prawns.

The provincial Department of Science and Technology has collaborated with relevant branches and agencies to popularise knowledge about intellectual property in the community and direct individuals and organisations to conduct procedures to register their trademarks.

The NOIP has recognised and protected three collective trademarks of Ca Mau Province: U Minh honey, U Minh snakeskin gourami and Rach Goc dried shrimp.
