Pegasus Shimamoto Auto Parts Vietnam, an overseas subsidiary of Pegasus, specialises in manufacturing die-cast products and other parts and components used for automotive, motorbike and industrial purposes.

The two-hectare, US$20 million facility is the second Pegasus factory to be built in Vietnam to date.

The factory has been designed to have a yearly production value of US$38 million.

Initially, all the products will be exported to Thailand and Japan.

Addressing the February 17 ribbon-cutting ceremony, Dinh Quoc Thai, chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee, noted that the Japanese investment flow into the locality has increased in recent years.

In 2013 alone, Japanese investment accounted for about 30% of the total US$1.6 billion in foreign direct investment to the province, he added.
