The 46km route starts at Km113+985 in Bac Giang city and ends at Km159+100 on National Highway 1 in Hanoi.

The project requires an investment of over VND4.2 trillion (US$197.4 million), takes the BOT (build-operate-transfer) model and is set to be completed in June 2016.

The route will have four lanes (can be upgraded to six lanes in the future) with a speed limit of 100 km per hour.

Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam said that the investment in transport infrastructure development is of great importance for the country’s industrilisation and modernisation. He asked that the Ministry of Transport and the contractor apply advanced technology when building the Highway so as to complete the project on time and ensure quality.

A toll station will be set up in July 2016, which will recover investment for the project in around 19 years.
