Hanoi’s CPI sees 0.04% rise

The Consumer Price Index of Hanoi in October increased by 0.04% month-on- month, with increases in eight categories, much lower than forecast.

The category of household equipment and utensils saw the highest rise at 0.53% while the indices of education, beverage and tobacco remained stagnant. The only category with a reduced index was transportation, falling by 1.07%, because of a decreased petroleum price imposed several times in the past two months.

Other categories witnessed light surges, including 0.13% in restaurant and catering services; 0.31% in garment, hats and footwear; 0.04% in housing, power and water supply and fuel; 0.05% in medicines and medical services; 0.02% in post and telecommunication; 0.05% in culture, entertainment and tourism; and 0.23% in other commodities and services.

Gold prices fell by 3.98% month-on-month while the US dollar exchange rate rose by 0.13% month-on-month.
