After its trial run, the first turbine is scheduled to be put into full operation in late July this year.

Located in Dan Thanh commune, Duyen Hai district, the construction of the two-turbine Duyen Hai 1 plant commenced in September 2010 at a cost of US$ 1.57 billion. The coal-fired power plant was built with modern technology, meeting standards of readiness, stable productivity, safety and environment protection.

The plant has a total capacity of 1.2455 MW, and is expected to add 7.8 billion kWh to the nation’s annual electricity output, helping to meet the increasing power demand in the province.

The Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Plant is one of the four plants in Duyen Hai Power Centre, which have a combined capacity of 4,348 MW and a total investment of around US$5 billion.
