Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Hoa said bilateral trade has improved in recent years but still falls short of its full potential, an issue which should be addressed by the two countries’ enterprises in order to boost economic relations further.

Deputy CEO of the Hungarian National Trading House, Gabor Kun, said a representative office of the trading house has been established in Vietnam to facilitate trade between the two countries.

He added that the agency aims to build a foreign trade network around the world to seek new opportunities for co-operation and enhance the export capacity of Hungary’s small and medium sized enterprises.

At the forum, Deputy Chairwoman of Vinh Phuc province, Duong Thi Kim Tuyen, introduced the locality’s potential fields of investment and its investment attraction policy, as well as informing potential investors that the northern province will take measures to improve the business environment and expects investment to flow into the automotive and food processing industries.

The forum is a joint effort by the Hungarian embassy in Vietnam and other Vietnamese and Hungarian trade promotion agencies, aiming to help Vietnamese enterprises connect with Hungarian counterparts in fields such as agriculture, food processing, mechanics and energy, among others.
