The service will allow enterprises to submit their registration files for motor vehicles and engines, imported for local assembly. The files then will be automatically sent to the Ministry of Transport and the General Department of Customs for further processing.

At the launch ceremony on May 25, MOT Minister Dinh La Thang praised the efforts of the MOT’s Information Technology Centre, the Vietnam Registration Agency and relevant agencies to incorporate this service into the NSW system.

He said the launch of the service has demonstrated the transport sector’s determination to reform administrative procedures and expected the service to be rolled out to more areas to help enterprises and the people save time and costs.

In November last year, the Ministry of Transport joined the NSW for customs procedures with a pilot project implemented at the Hai Phong Port Authority.

The NSW was later officially implemented at five port authorities - Hai Phong, Vung Tau, Da Nang, Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City - in early May this year.

The MOT plans to expand its participation in the NSW to remaining procedures in road and waterway transport in August 2015.
