The meeting was chaired by Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the HPC and Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao.

Four years after the implementation of the programme, the city has obtained a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate of 9.23%, 1.58 times higher than the country’s average. The city’s per capita income reached US$3,600, 1.8 times than that of 2010.

The capital city has attracted over 1,500 projects with registered capital of US$5.2 billion.

Hanoi, together with Ho Chi Minh City, continued to maintain its position as the economic ‘locomotive’ of the country, accounting for 40% of the GDP of the Red River Delta region.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Nguyen The Thao urged the city’s authorities and relevant agencies to continue devising effective measures to maintain economic growth, as well as help enterprises seek solutions to difficulties in business production and ideas to facilitate future success.

More efforts should be made to create positive and comprehensive changes in almost every socio-economic field of the city, he noted.
