Enhancing trade cooperation between Vietnam and Japan

Vietnam will support the enterprises which support Vietnam in applying modern quality management systems and standards, improving product quality and increasing the localization rate in key manufacturing industries.

The remark was made by Bui Huy Son, Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, at a press conference on introducing three exhibitions on June 15, including the 7th Vietnam – Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition; exhibition on SMT, (Testing Technologies, Equipment, and Supporting Industries for Electronics Manufacturing); and Vietnam's Supporting Industrial Products Exhibition.

The exhibitions will take place from September 13 to 15 by the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), the Reed Tradex company of Thailand, Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and the Vietnam Electronics Industries Association (VEIA).

The events are part of the agreement between Vietnam and Japan to hold international fairs and business connectivity programmes for Vietnam’s support industry.

The exhibitions are expected to create business opportunities, strengthen localisation indicators for the electronics and supporting industries in Vietnam, whilst actively promoting trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

With the participation of over 200 leading brands from 20 countries and territories, the events will serve as a great supply platform for Japanese manufacturers to meet their Vietnamese counterparts, in order to strengthen their business opportunities.

At the end of the press conference, the departments signed the contract "Cooperation to strengthen localisation, strengthen supporting industries and improve understanding of information technology agreements”.
