Hanoi trade fair features products made in China’s Zhejiang province

A trade fair kicked off on August 3 at the International Centre of Exhibition in Hanoi, showcasing a wide range of export products manufactured by enterprises in China’s Zhejiang province.

Exhibited products include machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, building materials, interior decorations, metal ware, garments, textile materials and consumer goods.

To Ngoc Son, an official from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, stated that the exhibition, held for the sixth time, is an opportunity for enterprises of Vietnam and Zhejiang to strengthen trade relations.

He added that the ministry is working with concerned Chinese authorities to organise trade promotion events in order to support cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and China’s Ministry of Commerce are coordinating with the Zhejiang government to finalise procedures for the opening of a Vietnamese trade promotion office in Hangzhou this year.

Zhejiang is one of China’s most economically dynamic regions, with export revenues reaching up to US$26.78 billion in 2016, ranking third among China’s coastal provinces.

It is also home to many global names such as Alibaba, Geely and Wanxiang.

According to Zhejiang’s statistics, trade between Vietnam’s localities and the Chinese province reached US$6.7 billion in 2016, up 12% from the previous year.

Currently, 186 Zhejiang-based enterprises have made invested in Vietnam with capital totalling US$1.68 billion while there are also 26 Vietnamese enterprises investing US$20 million in Zhejiang.
