Ba Ria-Vung Tau removes difficulties for businesses and investors

Leaders of southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province held a dialogue with local businesses and investors on August 3, in order to listen to and address their concerns.

At the conference, relevant departments, sectors and units replied to 24 questions raised by 13 enterprises, including nine questions concerning land, natural resources and the environment; four questions relating to tax issues; four on the field of fisheries; and seven regarding customs issues.

On the basis of the answers, provincial leaders continued assigning these units to closely follow and definitely deal with existing obstacles.

Le Dinh Thang, Director of DIC4, asked for the province’s support measures as the costs for power access, land clearance and land use tax still remain high, causing difficulties for enterprises. He also suggested that the provincial authorities promote the “No delay” culture in State agencies to deal with the situation of indifference in processing the dossiers and administrative formalities for businesses.

In the previous dialogue held in late 2016, Ba Ria-Vung Tau received 55 recommendations from 33 companies across many fields. The provincial People’s Committee has directed departments, sectors and localities to process those recommendations and report the handling progress and outcomes to each firm.

With regards to a number of requests relating to regulations, mechanisms and policies outside the province’s jurisdiction, the provincial People’s Committee has directed departments and sectors to submit these requests to the Government in order to be addressed in the near future.
