The PM informed a government meeting on August 30 that sub-licences and high business costs remained a great hindrance to the growth of enterprises.
He added that Vietnam had achieved positive macroeconomic indicators in the first eight months of the year, with the average consumer price index rising by just 3.84% and exports growing by 18%.
However, PM Phuc pointed out that the administrative procedures remain complicated, causing difficulties for enterprises, despite the reform efforts undertaken in recent months.
PM Phuc gave the example that a transport company must pay 70 different types of fees, causing public discontent.
He also cited a report by the World Bank which states that it takes Vietnamese enterprises 189 hours per year to pay social insurance premiums, while the respective time in Thailand and Indonesia is 48 hours and 46 hours.
He emphasised that the ministries, agencies and local authorities must focus their efforts on addressing administrative barriers, especially the burden of taxes and cost.
