He made the statement during a ceremony in Hai Phong, on September 20, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hai Phong Centre for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, and Viet Phat investment, trade and export-import company to accelerate the construction of the shopping centre.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Le Van Thanh said that once completed, the project will generate jobs for more than 2,000 workers, contribute to the State budget and assist the development of local small and medium-sized enterprises.
Hai Phong will hand over the site on schedule and ensure that the infrastructure, along with water and electricity supply, is in place for the investor to carry out the construction, he said.
The AeonMall Hai Phong-Le Chan will cover an area of nearly 9.3ha on Ho Sen – Cau Rao 2 road in Le Chan district.
Aeon Vietnam is a subsidiary of the giant Japanese retailer Aeon, which first entered Vietnam in 2011.
