Speaking at the closing ceremony, MoIT Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai said that during the eight years of implementation of the campaign on encouraging Vietnamese people to prioritise Vietnamese goods initiated by the Politburo, the MoIT has carried out a number of activities and has achieved positive results in polarising the campaign; through reviewing, supplementing and amending policies in order to encourage people to prioritise Vietnamese goods; facilitating enterprises in their business activities; strengthening the retail distribution system; and renovating market management activities.

The campaign has fundamentally changed the awareness of consumers on the production and business capacity of Vietnamese enterprises and domestically made products have won over consumers, he noted.

The Deputy Minister also emphasised that the MoIT will continue to focus on communications work in order to raise public awareness of products made in Vietnam, as well as encouraging domestic enterprises to enhance the competitiveness of their products.

The ministry will also assist domestic enterprises in bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas and industrial zones, as well as to enter modern distribution channels, he added.

Also at the closing ceremony, the organisers presented awards to winners of several contests, such as “I love Vietnamese goods” and “Vietnamese goods - My story”.

In addition, the leaders of the MoIT and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee also handed over commemorative medals to collectives and individuals who have contributed to the programme’s activities.
