Two major projects inaugurated in Hai Phong

Two major projects, including the Nguyen Binh Khiem flyover and LG Display Vietnam plant, were officially inaugurated in the northern port city of Hai Phong, on December 4.

The events were attended by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The LG Display Vietnam project has a total investment of over US$1.5 billion, specialising in producing and processing high-tech (OLED) display products for mobile devices, including smart phones, smart watches and tablets.

This is the first high-tech display production project to be invested in abroad by the Republic of Korea (RoK)-based LG Display Company, as well as the second largest project of the corporation in Hai Phong.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, PM Phuc expressed his pleasure at the operation of the modern and high-tech plant, appreciating the efforts made by the investors, as well as the support provided by the local agencies and people.

The plant is expected to contribute to enhancing the Vietnam – RoK strategic partnership, he noted.

The Government leader affirmed that the Government and Hai Phong agencies would always create favourable condition for both domestic and foreign investors to implement their projects.

Also on the same day, PM Phuc attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the inauguration of a flyover at the Nguyen Binh Khiem-Dinh Vu intersection.

The overpass is under the renovation and expansion project for 2A section of Road 365 connecting Nguyen Binh Khiem junction and Dinh Vu dam. It was under construction for nine months with a total investment of VND953 billion.

The work is an important arterial route facilitating the transportation of cargo through the sea ports in Hai Phong city.
