Hanoi enhances investment, tourism promotion activities during APEC Week

During the recent APEC Economic Leaders' Week, Hanoi held a variety of investment and tourism promotion activities as well as met numerous major partners and corporations around the world.

According to Deputy Director in charge of Information - Communications and Tourism Promotion of the Hanoi Promotion Agency Bui Duy Quang, from November 7-10, Hanoi participated in the exhibition ‘Vietnam – a reliable and potential trading partner’ in Da Nang city.

At a 9m2 pavilion designed by the Hanoi Promotion Agency (HPA) in collaboration with relevant units, documents, publications, leaflets and films introduced the City’s potential for investment, tourism and trade.

Hanoi’s pavilion attracted a large number of both domestic and international enterprises and other visitors to find information on the local landscapes and seek opportunities to invest in the capital.

Deputy Director Quang said that the entire exhibition, which consisted of 80 booths from all 63 provinces and cities around the country, featured the economic achievements of Vietnam, contributing to attracting investment as well as the promotion of Vietnamese brands to enterprises and delegates from 21 APEC economies.

On the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, Hanoi’s leader hosted numerous receptions and talks with representatives from big economic corporations around the world.

Specifically, Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Chung met with Nico Barito, the Special Envoy of the Republic of Seychelles for ASEAN and the R20 Director; Yu Won Seog, Deputy Mayor of Changwon city from the Republic of Korea (RoK); Antonio V. Del Rosario, General Director of Coca-Cola ASEAN; Don Lam – General Director of VinaCapital group; and Tetsu Funayama, President cum General Director of Mitsubishi Vietnam corporation.

He also received representatives from BRG and Sumimoto corporations from Japan and BRG and Nicklaus corporation from the US.

On the occasion, the chairman witnessed the signing ceremonies between Hanoitourist and Global Consultant Network Limited Company (the RoK).
