At the reception, Nicolas Audier said that EuroCham has planned to implement a number of cooperation programmes with Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring localities, including promoting the City’s business potential to European enterprises, mobilising the European Parliament to ratify the EU-Vietnam free trade agreement (EVFTA).

The EuroCham leader wished the two sides to further strengthen cooperation for mutual benefits, particularly in the fields of EU enterprises’ potential and experience such as building of smart urban areas, green energy, renewable energy, transportation and logistics.

European businesses are willing to share experience and support Ho Chi Minh City in developing a legal framework for the effective management of public-private partnership (PPP) investment projects as well as building procedures, standards and technical quality for the field of network security.

For his part, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong expressed his belief that the economic cooperation, particularly in investment and trade, between Vietnam and European countries would continue to develop, especially after the EVFTA comes into effect in the coming time.

Ho Chi Minh City always respects and appreciates resources from foreign investors as well as pledges to create favourable conditions for EU enterprises to invest and do business, contributing to the City’s development in the future, he added.
