Themed ‘Vietnam – India cooperation in agriculture and processed food’, the seminar was jointly organised by the Ministries of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and India as part of the Global Food & Beverage Show of India, which took place on January 18 and 19.
The event was attended by representatives from the management agencies and food industry of both countries, and nearly 30 Vietnamese businesses operating in the field.
Addressing the seminar, Santosh Kumar Sarangi, an official from the India’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, highlighted the encouraging achievements in their bilateral cooperation in agriculture and processed food.
Vietnam imports aquatic products, vegetables and animal feed from India, while its major export products include coffee, pepper, cashew nuts and seafood.
Do Huu Huy from the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade called for further exchange activities between the two countries as well as expos and trade promotion programmes in order to boost two-way trade.
The Global Food & Beverage Show of India is one of the largest events of its kind in India, which showcases products, equipment and the latest technology in the production, processing and packaging of the food and beverage industry.
