The Government leader made the request while attending an investment promotion conference in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on January 30.

He urged the province to develop its infrastructure system, particularly its logistic services, and improve the quality of human resources in order to serve shrimp farming, collection and processing.

PM Phuc emphasised the necessity of developing a detailed strategy for tourism development, while building a diverse tourism ecosystem and raising the quality of services.

The province should continue to develop various types of businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises and cooperatives, as well as encouraging starts-up among local young people, he added.

The PM called for investors and enterprises to pay great attention to protecting the environment and caring for workers’ rights and interest.

At the conference, the Bac Lieu provincial People’s Committee granted investment certificates to ten projects and investment licenses to more than 20 projects, with a total capital of over VND110 trillion (US$485.1 million).

On the same day, PM Phuc attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the Bac Lieu hi-tech shrimp farming area and the model of the super-intensive shrimp production in greenhouses operated by the Vietnam-Australia Group.
