Cai Lan port loads first shipments in Lunar New Year

Cai Lan port in northern Quang Ninh province loaded its batches of cargo onto two ships on February 19 (the fourth day of the Year of the Dog), the first shipments in the Lunar New Year.

MG Hammond freighter (from Panama) docked at berth No.2, carrying 52,000 tonnes of agricultural products, while Vietnam’s Thanh Phat ship received 2,400 tonnes of coal at berth No.1.

The Cai Lan International Container Terminal Limited Liability Company (CICT) has mobilised its manpower and equipment to urgently load and unload cargo in the shortest period of time possible.

In January, CICT has served four vessels with total of nearly 8,000 Teu containers and handled nearly 530,000 tonnes of products.

The company loaded 59,000 Teu containers and 3.4 million tonnes of cargo last year.
