Foodex is considered as Japan and Asia’s largest international trade fair in the field of food and beverages. In terms of the food and beverage production and trading sector in Japan, Foodex is a perfect platform to seek suitable foreign-originated food and drink items for the domestic market, as well as to introduce Japanese products to the world.
Meanwhile, the event also offers a golden opportunity for foreign businesses to advertise and boost their exports of food and beverage products to Japan, one of the largest markets for the food and beverage industry.
With the theme of “Foods of Vietnam”, the display area of Vietnamese businesses showcases a variety of unique Vietnamese agro-fisheries products, such as fruit, vegetables, processed seafood and fish oil, organic pepper, fruit cakes and juices.

According to Ta Duc Minh, Trade Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Vietnamese products introduced at this year’s Foodex no longer stop at the preliminary processing level but have been intensively processed and can be sold at supermarkets in Japan.
Hoang Van Du, Deputy Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Centre under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, stated that the Vietnamese businesses’ participation in Foodex 2018 aims to advertise the Vietnamese food brand, while exploring and approaching the Japanese market and learning new technologies in processing and preserving agro-fisheries products from advanced countries.
Foodex Japan 2018 will last until March 9 and is expected to attract around 85,000 visitors who come to watch, conduct transactions and sign contracts.
