The shopping centre, covering nearly 98,000 square metres in Duong Noi ward, is scheduled to open in 2019 with one basement and three floors.

The combined floor area is nearly 150,000 square metres, able to accommodate 200 shops, including an Aeon supermarket.

Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Akio Yoshida, Director of the Aeon Mall Company, highlighted the significance of the project to his company, pledging that his company will bring its expertise, experience, passion and dedication to contribute to the community’s development.

Aeon Mall Ha Dong is expected to become the biggest shopping mall in the area, he said.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Kunio Umeda said that the project will contribute to not only improving the living standards of local residents but also promoting the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

Aeon Mall Ha Dong is the second shopping mall invested by the Japanese company in Hanoi, following the first one in Long Bien district, and the fifth in Vietnam.
