State Auditor General of Vietnam Ho Duc Phoc said the event is an important politic and diplomatic event of Vietnam, contributing to the implementation of its foreign policy.
Through the event, Vietnam also hopes to gain knowledge and experience from the ASOSAI members and attract resources to enhance the capacity of the Vietnam State Audit (VSA), he noted.
The theme of the 14th congress is “Environmental Audit for Sustainable Development,” which was proposed by the VSA and has been supported by the member institutions.
Also at the press briefing, the VSA introduced the brand identity for the congress which includes a logo and other visual information and communication tools.
The ASOSAI Congress is held every three years, gathering delegates of the supreme audit institutions from the member countries, regional audit organisations, development partners and sponsors.
Established in 1979, the ASOSAI initially had 11 founding members and its current membership reaches 46. The organisation aims to promote cooperation and friendship among its members to improve the quality and effectiveness in public auditing, while connecting regional audit institutions with those in other regions across the globe.
