In particular, in the first quarter, nearly 2.7 million records were processed and an additional 230,000 records have been added to the list since early April.

All of the online records are handled on time, with the largest number of online records related to customs declarations.

To date, Vietnam Customs has provided 126 out of 178 customs formalities online at the minimum Level 3. Among them, 123 procedures are being offered at Level 4, the highest level of online public services in Vietnam.

In 2018, the sector will expand its online public service delivery at the minimum Level 3 for 42 additional procedures, increasing the number of administrative procedures in the field of customs which are provided online to 168/178 or 94% of procedures.

Giving a more detailed analysis on the number, a senior official from the department’s Customs Electronic Portal Management Office said that the rate of 94% covers almost all administrative procedures that are regularly exchanged between enterprises and people with customs offices.

In 2018, the customs sector strives to run additional services which arise during operations between the customs offices and the people and enterprises. They cover the operations regulated in the legal documents but not named as administrative procedures in the customs field, for example, the extension of transit of goods and the management of coloured metal sheet quotas for implementing safeguard duty.

Currently, the customs sector handles more than 12 million records in the electronic environment each year through its automated VNACCS/VCIS clearance system, electronic payment gateway and the HQ36a public service delivery system.
