Over 14,500 new enterprises established in Vietnam in April

The number of newly established Vietnamese enterprises in April was 14,510, with the total registered capital at VND133.5 trillion (US$5.87 billion), according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

The figures were up 79.5% in terms of firm numbers and 64.5% in capital over the previous month.

These companies are expected to create jobs for nearly 106,700 people, a monthly rise of 54.7%, the GSO said.

April also witnessed 3,281 enterprises resuming their operations but another 6,138 temporarily suspended their business and 1,378 were dissolved.

In the first four months of the year, the number of newly established enterprises was almost 41,300 with a total capital of VND412 trillion (US$18.1 billion).

If the VND749 trillion (US$33 billion) in additional capital registered by existing enterprises were counted, the total amount of capital injected into the economy during the January-April period would reach more than VND1.161 quadrillion (US$51.1 billion).

The number of jobs created during the period was estimated at 332,000.

The first four months of 2018 also saw 11,442 enterprises return to business and another 26,277 halt their operations temporarily.
