Over 52,300 new enterprises established in five months

Over 52,300 enterprises were formed nationwide in the first five months of the year, with a total registered capital of VND517 trillion (US$22.64 billion), up 3.5% in the number of new businesses and up 6.4% in terms of capital compared with the same period of 2017.

Operational enterprises pumped an additional VND902 trillion (US$39.53 billion) into their business activities during the period.

In addition, as many as 13,267 businesses resumed operations in the first five months of 2018, bringing the total number of newly registered enterprises, as well as those returning to operations in the past five months, to nearly 65,600 enterprises.

Overall, these enterprises are expected to add over 412 new employees to their payrolls.

May saw the establishment of over 11,000 enterprises with a total registered capital of VND104 trillion (US$4.55 billion), creating 80.5 thousand jobs.

In addition, 2,306 enterprises returned to operation in May, but 6,855 businesses temporarily halted their operations and 834 enterprises completed their dissolution procedures.
