Ministries urged to continue reducing business conditions

Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung has asked the ministries and sectors to focus on reviewing all legal documents in order to eliminate and revise overlapping regulations on business conditions that hinder the business activities of enterprises.

Minister Dung, who is head of the Prime Minister Working Group, made the request at a working session with 17 ministries, sectors and agencies on the simplification of business conditions and the specialised inspections of goods, held at the Government headquarters on May 30.

Minister Dung stated that only the three Ministries of Science and Technology, Natural Resources and Environment, and Transport have slashed 50% of the types of goods that are subject to specialised inspections. Meanwhile, there are nine ministries which have cut over 50% of their business conditions.

The government official pointed out that many ministries have thus far only reviewed their procedures but have yet to cut procedures in addition to the emergence of a number of new procedures.

He also asked for a substantial reform but to not combine many conditions into one condition or just rename the conditions.

Thus, Minister Dung told the ministries and sectors to continue to reviewing their conditions to made appropriate reforms in order to facilitate enterprises and create room for economic growth.

The government official also directed the ministries to report the results to the government before July 30 to make appropriate adjustments in order to fuel economic growth in the remaining months of 2018 and in the upcoming years.
