The World Economic Forum on ASEAN 2018 will take place in Hanoi from September 11-13.

The event, scheduled for September 11-13 in Hanoi, is expected to feature 55 discussion sessions on issues of interest to the governments, businesses and people of the ASEAN countries concerning the fourth industrial revolution.

High on the agenda will be a new vision for ASEAN on regional integration, the search for new economic and governance models in the digital age, and the search for new drivers and business models for ASEAN countries in the fourth industrial revolution.

Participants will also discuss a new approach for businesses to global and regional governance, as well as smart infrastructure development, skills training and innovation in the fourth industrial revolution.

Deputy Minister Son said the hosting of the forum will provide benefits to Vietnam in terms of shared experience in national and corporate governance from around the world.

He added that the forum will also help Vietnamese businesses to connect with the world’s leading companies.

Besides the main discussion sessions, there will also be an open forum on start-ups and innovation, a gala night on Vietnamese culture and a Vietnam business forum during the three days of the WEF on ASEAN 2018.

Prior to this event, Vietnam hosted the WEF on East Asia in 2010 in Ho Chi Minh City and the WEF on the Mekong Region in 2016 in Hanoi.

In January 2017, Vietnam and the WEF signed a partnership agreement to support the country through the next stage of its development as the fourth industrial revolution unfolds.
