The event is held within the framework of the official visit to Vietnam by Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Jorge Faurie.

The Argentine Minister expressed his delight at the productive relationship and growing trade revenue between the two countries, affirming that Argentina will attempt to promote and diversify trade relations and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

He noted that Argentine enterprises are interested in and appreciate cooperation with Vietnam in the areas of biotechnology, services, pharmaceuticals and engineering, while showing his wish that the two sides will expand trade exchanges to jointly create more value in the next stages.

Deputy Director of the MoIT's Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, Doan Thi Thu Thuy, said that Argentina is the second largest trade partner of Vietnam in Latin America, while Vietnam is Argentina’s fifth largest import market in the world.

The countries’ two-way trade revenue hit US$3 billion in 2017, Thuy noted, adding that Vietnam shipped a diverse type of goods to Argentina including garment and textile accessories, footwear, machinery, components, phone components and others.

The forum also served as a venue for businesses from both countries to seek business and investment opportunities and promote trade exchange in the areas of seafood, processed food, beverages, fruits, cattle-feed, and pharmaceuticals.
